Fresno real estate residents embrace their wild side at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. Well over 150 animals from across the globe call this Fresno property home. From the most beautiful to the strange, species off all kinds flourish here. While everyone recognizes the stripes of the zebra, howl of the Red Wolf and long neck of the giraffe, more curious critters such as the Sloth Bear and Malayan Tapir might raise a few eyebrows.
Keeper chats are scheduled throughout the day. Learn the nuances of the tiger and lion directly from the hand that feeds them. Other favorite animals showcased are the elephants, cheetah, flamingos and various reptiles. Aquatic creatures represented in the talks are the sea lion, otter and shark.
Animal Antics Are In Full Swing On Fresno Property
New to the zoo is the Roo Walkabout. With the opening in September 2016, this area is all about emus, Red Kangaroos and kookaburras. Not available currently on the weekdays, guests can hop on through it Saturdays and Sundays. Take a hands on approach at Stingray Bay. Here visitors can touch actual cow-nosed rays and southern stingrays marveling at them as they slip and slide in the water.
Can’t get enough of the animals? Get to know them intimately. Those living in Fresno or nearby should consider becoming a member. Unlimited visits during regular hours, discounted admission to over 100 other zoos, special events and more all are part of an annual membership.
The Fresno Chaffe Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come for a visit and go a little wild.
